Flood potential for Town of Port Barre

Good morning, all! The Mayors and officials with St. Landry Parish Government had a phone conference this morning regarding the potential for flooding in St. Landry Parish and more specifically, the Town of Port Barre. They were advised that the potential flooding would happen within 6 to 7 days. There are 4 monitoring stations to determine the speed of the water coming this way. The stations are being monitored by Parish Government and they will be advising us accordingly. At this time, we have not been told exactly who will be affected. For those residing along the Bayous, the possibility of you being flooded are great. And all others, be prepared as well. Please start making preparations for evacuation. There will be 3 evacuation sites to be advised of later. As the information is obtained by us, we will pass it on. Stay tuned to our Facebook Page and website for updates.
