LANDRY PARISH COMMUNITY ACTION AGENCY AND IS DISTRIBUTED MONTHLY AT THE PORT BARRE COMMUNITY CENTER LOCATED AT 122 PARK STREET IN PORT BARRE.  FOR MORE INFORMATION, PLEASE CONTACT CAA AT 337-948-3651.  THE FOLLOWING ARE THE DATES FOR THE REMAINDER OF CALENDAR YEAR 2017:  JUNE 12, JULY 13, AUGUST 10, SEPTEMBER 14, OCTOBER 11, NOVEMBER 13, DECEMBER 11.

YOUTH RECREATIONAL SUMMER PROGRAM

Begins: 6/26/2017 - 9:00 A.M.
Ends: 6/28/2017 - 11:00 A.M.

Crafts and other activities "free" to children ages 7-13, beginning Monday, June 26, 2017 to Wednesday, June 28, 2017 from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. each day.  This program is being held in the rear entrance of the Port Barre Community Center, next to Veterans' Memorial Park.  Pre-registration is required.  To sign up or get more information, please contact Mrs. Mary Alice LeBlanc at 585-6251 or Mrs. Cindy Perron at 658-6816.

PBPD YOUTH MENTORING PROGRAM

Begins: 7/10/2017 - 9:00 A.M.
Ends: 7/14/2017 - 12:00 NOON

The Port Barre Police Department will be hosting its annual Youth Mentoring Program designed for Port Barre boys and girls between the ages of 9-17.  These young ladies and gentlemen will be spending 3 hours a day for 5 days, with Chief Deon R. Boudreaux and some of Port Barre's finest.  Police will teach topics such as bicycle safety, anti-bullying, CPR/first aid, drug awareness and more.  "This is not a bootcamp for ill behaved children, but a mentoring program to not only teach them about important life topics, but also to help build a trusting relationship between our youth and our police."  Applications can be picked up at the PBPD located at 498 Saizan Avenue in Port Barre.  Please complete the application and submit back to the PD by June 16, 2017
